FNOOB DiGiTAL presents a new release from Emir Hazir, a veteran of Ankara, Turkey's techno scene and host of Fnoob Techno Radio's late _Mechanical Series_ program.
The new EP, _Obstacle_, features three tracks of dark, subtle minimalism.
The first track, 'Shade', runs rampant with a loop of subtle noise of unknown origin underneath a percussive monophonic sawtooth synth and kick drum with a clicky transient, all over a throbbing, enveloping bass drone. 909 percussion commences, accompanied by refined sound design, including a gorgeous FM tom sound and what sounds like hi-hat originating from a spray can.
This track runs at 128 BPM, danceable but not overwhelming.
The next track, 'Taraba', offers a darker experience building in intensity, thematically keeping much of the same sound design but introducing an ominous bass growl and formant-filtered synth.
The final track, 'Zigad', is the standout, introducing polyrhythmic metallic percussion falling into classic techno synth chords, pushing the pressure forward to 132 BPM.
Debuting alongside three remixes, the Norwegian producer's athletic new techno track puts the "body" in "body music." Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
