FNOOB DiGiTAL's twenty-fifth release comes from the Leeds techno underground. Callum Watson's not old enough to have been around for the events at the Orbit club in nearby Morley, but if this release is any indicator, he's definitely got its spirit with three tracks of aggressive, pounding, dance floor-ready mayhem.

Track 1, 'Foxy Moris', starts strong with a dirty, overdriven kick and a wasp-like drone swooping back and forth between speakers, slowly and menacingly building through metallic clank into throbbing bass and hats, with modulated acid courtesy of a Dave Smith Mopho. Track 2,, title track 'Mating Ritual', keeps the heavy kick and crunch, but backs off slightly on the tempo, letting the percussion breathe a little bit more. Squelchy Mopho bursts predominate through dark, echo-laden drums and atmosphere.
Track 3, 'Species with Amnesia', concludes the release with a kick-clap pattern that rolls into pulsating, body music-flavored sequenced acid.
